Kroos reflected on the situation and said that he can understand why Vinicius Jr was upset.
"When you have a great performance, especially in a big match like this, you're not happy about being taken out," Kroos said.
"Personally, I've never liked being substituted, but I've never reacted as strongly as Vinicius Jr did," he added.
Kroos emphasized that people may judge Vinicius Jr based on how he reacted, but they can't fully understand the emotions he experienced in that moment.
"No one who judges him can imagine what it's like to be in his shoes," Kroos said.
He also suggested that Vinicius Jr might have reacted impulsively, but that it's an emotional state that can happen in intense situations like the one he was in.
Kroos also had a message for the fans, saying that they shouldn't take everything too seriously and that coaches often don't take it personally either.
