Deulofeu, who has been a free agent since January, is currently training with Udinese's team as part of his rehabilitation. He still lives in the area and has been working closely with the team's technical director, Gokhan Inler.
The 31-year-old former Barcelona, Everton, and Watford winger suffered an ACL rupture against Napoli in 2023, which was complicated by an infection following surgery. This led him to consider retirement during a difficult period.
Despite the challenges, Deulofeu wants to repay the support of Udinese and its fans by returning to the pitch wearing the club's colors.
At a recent conference, Deulofeu stated, "I can train every morning with Gokhan. One of my strengths and passions is training and dreaming of playing football. It has been a tough time, but I'm getting better every day, and if there's one day I can recover, I'll play for Udinese."
Deulofeu is not only focused on his own recovery but is also passing on his knowledge and experience to the younger players in the squad. He explained, "I'm lucky to have the leadership's support, and I'm giving my best to play again for Udinese because I'm close to the city and the supporters."
Deulofeu's family has been a significant source of support during his recovery, and he credits them with keeping his spirits up. He said, "After training, I'm back home, and I need my family, love, passions, and the nature of Udine to keep me going. Living my life and seeing my kids grow has been a source of happiness, but to complete this happiness will be playing again."
