Palhinha will initially join Tottenham on a loan, with the option for the London club to purchase his contract at the end of the season. This opportunity will allow him to continue his career in the Premier League.
Palhinha's football journey began at Sacavenense, where he was part of the youth team. He later joined Sporting in 2012 and made his debut for the B team at 18 years old. He then made his first-team debut in January 2017.
During his early years, Palhinha gained experience through loan spells at Moreirense, Belenenses, and SC Braga. At SC Braga, he played a key role in winning the 2019/20 League Cup under the guidance of Ruben Amorim.
Returning to Sporting in 2020, Palhinha helped the team win the 2020/21 league title, their first championship in 19 years. He was also named in the Team of the Year during this period. Additionally, he contributed to the club's success in two League Cups and the Super Cup.
In 2022, Palhinha moved to the Premier League, joining Fulham. He quickly established himself as one of the league's top defensive midfielders, earning Fulham's Player of the Season award in his first campaign.
Over two seasons at Craven Cottage, Palhinha made 79 appearances for Fulham, scored eight goals, and recorded more tackles than any other player in the Premier League. His consistent performances caught the attention of Bayern Munich, where he joined in July 2024 and contributed to the team's Bundesliga title win last season.
Internationally, Palhinha made his debut for Portugal's senior national team in 2021 and has since accumulated 34 international appearances, participating in the 2020 and 2024 European Championships, as well as the 2022 World Cup. He was also part of the Portuguese team that won the Nations League in June.
