Matthaus mentioned that Galatasaray could be one of the options for ter Stegen, as they have shown their ambition by signing Leroy Sané and will participate in the Champions League next season.
With six English clubs set to play in the Champions League next season, Matthaus feels that none of them have a strong enough goalkeeper to say they are not interested in ter Stegen.
Regarding Manchester City, Matthaus is unsure of their plans but thinks they might not be satisfied with Ederson. He believes ter Stegen could be a good fit for the team as their goalkeeper for the next three or four years.
Matthaus also stated that ter Stegen's situation at Barcelona is uncomfortable for him. Ter Stegen has shown he is still a world-class goalkeeper at 33 years old, especially after his return from a long injury and his impressive performance in the Nations League against France.
However, Matthaus noted that Barcelona has signed Joan Garcia, who is nine years younger and already part of the Spanish national team.
