Extensive investigations at the hospital confirmed the diagnosis of vasovagal syncope, also known as a common faint. This condition occurs when a person overreacts to certain triggers, causing a sudden drop in blood pressure and heart rate. For a footballer, this diagnosis is not ideal, leading fans to speculate that his career may be over.
Oscar made over 200 appearances for Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles before moving to Shanghai Port and eventually returning to Brazil. He is now considering retirement, despite signing a three-year contract with São Paulo last December.
On Wednesday, Oscar sent a message to fans, assuring them that he is fine and recovering slowly. He posted, "Thank you so much for the messages and prayers. Everything will be fine, God willing."
Oscar will undergo an electrophysiological study this Friday to further assess his condition.
