Walker acknowledged that Dyche may not have had the most natural ability on the field, but he made up for it with his determination and work ethic. He praised Dyche for staying in the game and making a living from it, and for eventually transitioning into a managerial role.
Walker also commented on the then-manager Brian Clough's approach to involving young players in the senior setup. He remembered Clough bringing young players into the dressing room to give them a taste of what it was like to be part of the team.
Clough's approach was to ground players and make them feel part of the team, and Walker believed that this approach helped to develop Dyche's skills and character.
